Teeth are exposed to many factors on a daily basis. For example, temperature drops when eating various foods provoke enamel cracking. The clicking of seeds, the opening of bottles with your teeth is the cause of chips. The teeth also contain salts. The acid dissolves them and flushes them out. So the teeth are destroyed ahead of time. To maintain oral hygiene, you should learn to care for your teeth.

About oral hygiene

To prevent the effect of bacterial acids on the enamel of your teeth, after eating, rinse your mouth with water or dental elixir, and nibble on an apple or carrot. Food debris will be removed from the surface and a breeding ground for bacteria will be eliminated.

You can also take care of your teeth with the help of the food you eat. Eat foods that contain calcium, such as milk and dairy products. You can take calcium gluconate: one or two tablets (pre-grind) three times a day with water. Some doctors believe that calcium tablets are low in calcium. They recommend taking medications that combine calcium and vitamin D.

About toothbrushes

To take good care of your teeth, you should change your toothbrushes every three months. So, how to tell a good toothbrush from a fake one:

- a good toothbrush cannot be cheap (less than 50 rubles);

- evaluate the quality of the packaging - a brush without packaging is only suitable for shoes;

- the bristles on good brushes are neat, even, fastened in bunches, the handle is rubberized;

- the bristles are made from special materials, a bad brush is made from coarse fishing line;

- after the first application, the bristles of a bad brush will lose their original shape.

About chewing gum

Chewing gum is not capable of replacing a brush and is unlikely to provide full dental care, so dentists recommend using it only for one-time oral hygiene, preferably after a meal.

When chewing gum on an empty stomach, this process can contribute to the appearance of gastritis and, if there is this disease, then an exacerbation of peptic ulcer disease. By chewing gum only after a meal, you solve the problem of cleaning your teeth, and also contributes to the additional secretion of gastric juice, which is necessary for the digestion of food.

You should be aware that chewing gum for maintaining oral hygiene more than 5 times a day is very harmful. It is permissible to chew one serving of gum for no longer than 15 minutes. First, the aroma, flavor and refreshing components of the product lose their sharpness in just 10 minutes of intense chewing. Secondly, prolonged, and even more frequent, chewing adversely affects the temporomandibular joint.

Chewing gum does not eliminate the need for proper dental care - you still have to brush your teeth twice a day.
