To keep your teeth healthy and your smile attractive, you need to properly care for your oral cavity. For some people, grooming is about brushing your teeth daily, but this is not always enough.

It's no secret that you need to brush your teeth twice a day - before breakfast and before going to bed. The duration of this procedure should be at least 2-3 minutes.
To provide complete oral care, the first step is to choose a toothbrush. It is best to opt for a medium-hardness brush, the bristles of which are made of artificial fibers. Do not forget that after each use, the toothbrush must be thoroughly rinsed with hot water and dried, this will prevent the appearance and development of unnecessary bacteria and microorganisms in it. You need to change this hygiene item at least once every six months.
There are many toothpastes: medicinal, whitening, prophylactic, or toothpaste for sensitive teeth. The price and composition of the paste do not determine the degree of its usefulness, the main thing is the presence of fluorine in it.
To remove food debris from hard-to-reach places, it is recommended to use dental floss (floss), which can be purchased at almost any pharmacy.
When caring for your teeth, you should not neglect cleaning the tongue, because plaque also forms on it and various microorganisms multiply. You can clean your tongue with the back of your toothbrush (if there is a special scraper) or with the handle of a teaspoon. You need to start cleaning the tongue from the root, gently moving to the tip.
At the end of each brushing, a mouthwash is used to prevent the formation of plaque, freshen breath, and destroy harmful microflora.
To avoid dental problems, you need to follow a few rules:
- do not split nuts with your teeth, do not open bottles, do not gnaw through threads, fishing lines, etc.;
- do not eat food that is too contrasting in temperature, for example, drinking hot soup with cold juice, this, over time, will damage the tooth enamel;
- if it is not possible to brush your teeth, you can chew the gum for 7-10 minutes;
- visit the dentist at least once every 6 months, even if there are no obvious dental problems.
