Instructions
Step 1
Find a model in one of the fashion magazines. Take your measurements and compare with the attached sizing chart. Copy the pattern according to your size. To do this, it is best to use tracing paper. Spread a sheet with a pattern on a flat surface, put tracing paper on top of it. The part numbers of the pattern you need are indicated on the margins (note that the color of the number must match the color of the pattern lines). Transfer all the markings and labels to the paper. If your figure differs from the standard one, then add or reduce the required number of centimeters in the problem area (for example, on the waist or hips). Although this can be adjusted during the fitting.
Step 2
Fold the fabric in half, right side in. Lay down the pattern, taking into account the direction of the share thread, and circle it with chalk. Cut out the details, leaving seam allowances of one and a half centimeters along the side and shoulder cuts, one centimeter along the neckline and three centimeters along the bottom line.
Step 3
Basting stitches to the right side of the scoring line, for example, the middle of the front and back, or a place for pockets.
Step 4
From the lining fabric, cut out the details of the front, back, sleeves and burlap pocket. However, if you are sewing a light coat, for example, from gabardine, then you can do without lining.
Step 5
Sew darts. Press them up on the chest, and the longitudinal ones towards the middle of the back / front. Sew a middle seam down the middle of the back, leaving the notch open. Press the allowances on the left side of the backrest. And on the right side, iron the slot allowance on the wrong side. Sew the left side obliquely, taking the allowance for the slot.
Step 6
Next, grind the side and shoulder cuts. Sew the hem with piping along the shoulder edges. Note that the cuffs of the lapels should be slightly wider than the lapels of the shelves so that they do not bulge or bulge up. To keep the collars in shape, duplicate them with non-woven fabric.
Step 7
Stitch the collar details, cut off the seam allowances and cut the corners obliquely. Turn it over to the right side and sew it into the neck of the coat, inserting it between the coat, hem and piping. Chip and grind all the details. Turn the lapels right out. Grind and iron clean. Sew embossed seams.
Step 8
Now start sewing the sleeves. Fold them in half and sew. Place them on the side and stitch them into the armhole. Sew on the shoulder pad and try on the garment to determine the length of the sleeve. Press and sew hem allowance by hand with blind stitches.
Step 9
Sew the straps to the pockets. Sew the sacking from the lining fabric to the piping, leaving a section open in the middle, through which later turn out the pocket. Unscrew the hem and lining to the right side and stitch to the edges of the pockets. Turn, iron on and sew to the shelves by hand with blind stitches.
Step 10
Make side and shoulder cuts of the lining. Sew on the sleeves. Sew it to the inner edges of the backs and back neck piping. Insert the sleeves of the lining into the sleeves of the coat and sew with blind stitches.
Step 11
Fold the hem allowance to the wrong side of the coat, iron and sew by hand with blind stitches. Sew the lining by hand along the slots and the bottom. Iron the product and hang it on a hanger.
Step 12
Mark the buttonholes and buttons on the front of the coat. Sew the buttonholes with a special foot on a sewing machine. Use a sharp blade to cut the holes. Sew on the buttons.
