Professional help

The safest and most effective way to stretch your shoes in a specific location is to take them to a workshop. There, a special agent will be applied to the backdrop, and then the shoes will be put on a wooden block, which will be adjusted to the desired length. After a while, you will be able to pick up your shoes and wear them without any problems.

You can do this at home. To do this, you need to purchase a stretcher and a wooden block at a shoe store. Thanks to this, you will be able to independently solve this problem on other shoes.

Use of improvised means

On genuine leather shoes, try softening the heel counter with rubbing alcohol. To do this, thoroughly wet a cotton swab or cloth in an alcohol solution and wipe the inside of the problem area on the shoes with it. Then cover the heel with adhesive tape, put on a thick sock and walk in the shoes until they are completely dry.

Instead of alcohol, you can use castor oil or liquid paraffin, but at the end, the excess of this product must be removed with a paper napkin. And oil should be applied only to the inner surface of the shoe.

Soften the leather with a hammer and cloth. To do this, put the shoe on a hard surface with the heel counter, cover the inside of the heel with a rag and gently tap it with a hammer for a few minutes.

The heel of suede shoes can be softened with steam. Just hold the shoe over boiling water so that the area that is rubbing becomes slightly damp. After that, walk around in shoes, putting them on a thick sock.

If you rub the back of a non-genuine leather shoe, cover the problem area with wax or a little liquid soap. After that, walk around in your shoes for several hours, putting them on your socks again. And rubber shoes can be stretched a little by dampening the heels inside and out with hot water and then walking around in them for a while.

Use special silicone stickers available from drugstores or shoe stores. Glue them to the inside of the shoe and enjoy long walks. They hold very well, so they are ideal for rubbing backdrops. Typically, these stickers are transparent, so they will not be visible even on colored shoes. And in order to surely solve the problem of rubbing, do not forget to glue an adhesive plaster to the heel for the first time.
