Step 1
The first option is traditional. Pass the lace through the bottom holes and out at both ends. Cross the ends of the laces, then thread them from the inside out through the holes. Repeat these steps up to the topmost holes.
Step 2
Another way of lacing is straight. Pass the lace through the bottom holes and take it inside the boot at both ends. Take the end of one lace, lift it up from the right so that it comes out of the upper hole, and then thread it into the left. Now lift both ends up and out each through one hole, then pull to the opposite side and pull up. Continue to lace up until one of the laces reaches the top hole. The other end will come out through the remaining hole at the top.
Step 3
A beautiful option to lace up sneakers is the "reverse loop" lacing. Pull the lace through the bottom holes and out of both holes on the sides. Spirally lift the left end of the lace up, passing it from under the hole with stitches. Also lift the right end of the lace along the right side of the boot, passing it along the left end into the loops.
Step 4
Another way is the double helix. Start lacing at the bottom, with the left lace coming out of the left hole and the right lace going into the right. The left end should go into the next right hole, and the right end should come out of the left above. The process should take place in a spiral to the very top.
