A person cannot do without at least one pair of shoes for each season. And therefore, a hike for shoes for many is the main sign of the coming change of seasons. The store counters are filled with shoemaker products. But not all of it can boast of perfect quality. What to look for when choosing boots or shoes?

Step 1

Decide what material your future shoes will be made of. If funds permit, give preference to leather.

Step 2

Having found a pair you like, ask what kind of leather it is made of. 90% of shoes are made from pork, goat or calf leather. The thickest (1, 5-2, 8 mm) and strongest of them is veal. Calfskin shoes will stand up to even very harsh operating conditions.

Less durable, less expensive, less thick and more common pigskin quickly loses its shape when wet and is highly hygroscopic. However, if the material is used only in the manufacture of bootlegs, insoles and decorative details, then its disadvantages are insignificant.

The most beautiful, thinnest skin is goat skin. Its thickness is 0.8 - 1.5 mm. For all its attractiveness, this material is not durable, and this should be borne in mind when choosing casual shoes.

Step 3

Examine the surface of the skin on the selected pair. It can be smooth, fleecy (nubuck, suede), varnished. Lacquered shoes are not suitable for the hot season, since they are poorly breathable and crack at +25. It cannot be exploited even in the cold. At a temperature of -10 degrees, the varnish will go into small cracks. The same thing will happen to him from dampness.

Boots, boots with a fleecy surface are highly hygroscopic and require constant treatment with water-repellent agents. At the same time, it is rather difficult to remove dust and dirt from the suede surface. But they are not afraid of scratches and bumps.

Step 4

Examine the inside of the selected shoes, feel all the seams. The inner surface must be smooth, even, the joints must almost not be felt.

Step 5

Take a close look at the boot, vamp and heel of the garment. The seams must be even, smooth. The stitch length is 2-3 mm. There should be no glue streaks or irregularities on the product.

Step 6

Take a closer look at the heel. Place the shoes or boots of your choice on a smooth surface. The pair should stand evenly, steadily, not toppling over. In this case, the socks are required to rise, as if to bend slightly upwards. This is not a defect, but is made on purpose so that when walking, a person does not cling to the ground with the toes of his shoes.

Step 7

Finally, try on your chosen pair. It should fit perfectly. Don't rely on tight shoes to wear off over time, and boots that dangle on your feet can be worn with socks.

Step 8

Take a few steps. Listen to your feelings. All right? Is it cozy and comfortable for you? Then head to the checkout. And do not forget to keep your cash or sales receipt and warranty card.
