In order for the foundation to lay down smoother and last longer, makeup artists recommend using a makeup base. For the eyes, there is a base under the shadow. With the help of it, shadows and eyeliner will not only look brighter, but also last from morning to evening in their original form.
On oily skin of the eyelids, shadows are poorly shaded and often stain. If you put on your makeup in the morning, most likely by evening nothing will remain of your shadows, or they will collect in the folds of the eyelid. On dry skin of the eyelids, shadows fall pale and constantly crumble due to poor adhesion to the surface.
Whatever type of skin you have, there are flaws everywhere. A base under the shade will easily solve all these problems.
What is the base under the shadows for?
The main purpose of the eyeshadow base is to prolong the durability of the eye makeup. With a good base, shadows will not roll down in the crease of the eyelid, will not blur or crumble. You can be calm, by the end of the day your eyes will look exactly the same as in the morning.
In addition, the base under the shadow absorbs excess sebum, smoothes the surface of the eyelid, smoothes peeling. Eyeshadow, pencil or eyeliner work better and look richer.
Usually, the base contains a small amount of pigment, which can easily mask problem areas: protruding blood vessels, redness or blueness due to lack of sleep.
How to choose a base for the shadow
The liquid base under the eyeshadow moisturizes the skin of the eyelids, mattifies, but does not hide imperfections. Suitable for the owner of young skin without any obvious problems.
The creamy base, due to its texture and more pigment, helps to mask redness, age spots and translucent vessels.
For oily skin, it is better to use a gel base, it allows the skin to breathe without clogging the pores. Choose a base shade that is as similar to your skin tone as possible.
How to apply a base under the eyeshadow
Any base is applied to a dry, clean eyelid. If the base is in powder form, apply with a brush. Spread the base from the lashes to the eyebrows so that it is not visible. Remove excess.
A liquid or cream base can be applied with either a brush or fingertips. Using a patting motion, so as not to stretch the skin of the eyelids, spread the base also from the eyelashes to the eyebrows. You can remove excess with a cotton swab or applicator.
After applying the base, close the jar tightly so that the base does not dry out and lasts for as long as possible.
If for some reason you cannot purchase a ready-made base for the eyeshadow, you can replace it in several ways: apply shadows in a wet way, use foundation, concealer or white pencil as a base. Cream eyeshadows of light shades can also act as a basis.
