It is necessary

  • - pan or device for steam baths;
  • - towel;
  • - medicinal plants;
  • - essential oils;
  • - a headband or hair clip;
  • - timer.

Step 1

Steam bath preparation Use a special cosmetic device for steam baths for the face and for inhalation. Pour water or a decoction of herbs into a container designed for liquid, drop a drop of essential oil, turn on the device and wait for the steam to start. Adjust the steam intensity and start taking a bath. If such a cosmetic device is not available, then remember how in childhood you were forced to "breathe over potatoes" and try to reproduce this method. To do this, put a saucepan on the fire, 1/3 full of water. After boiling, reduce heat to low. Then add 1 tablespoon of the collection of medicinal herbs to the water, or drop 10 drops of essential oils per 1 liter of water. Turn off the heat completely, wait 2 minutes and proceed with the procedure.

Step 2

Herbs and Oils Used Use herbs and essential oils to prepare the steam bath. So for oily skin chamomile, linden blossom, birch leaves, oak bark, mint are great. Essential oils of juniper, tea tree, cypress, lemon, sage will help to enhance the effect of the bath. For skin with various defects, it is better to offer a bath with calendula and tea tree oil, and for heavily soiled skin, a bath with oregano flowers is suitable. Dry skin is gently cleansed with a steam bath with licorice, dandelion, comfrey, rose and orange peel. For normal skin, it is best to brew thyme, lavender, chamomile or cuff herb. It would be nice to add 10 drops of essential oils of geranium, lavender, sandalwood or bergamot to the broth.

Step 3

Steam Bath Technique Thoroughly cleanse your face, tuck your hair into a ponytail or under a bandage. Prepare a steam bath. Lubricate your eyelids with a greasy cream (for dry skin, it is better to apply the cream all over your face), then sit comfortably over a container of water or a steam bath, close your eyes and let the steam do its thing. It is best to cover your head with a towel during the procedure. At the end of it, wash yourself immediately, rinse your face with cool water and apply a cream appropriate to your skin type.

Step 4

Procedure time The time for taking a steam bath varies: 5-7 minutes for dry skin, 10-15 minutes for normal skin, 20-25 minutes for oily skin. The number of procedures per month also depends on the skin type. For oily skin, 3-4 procedures per month are indicated, while dry skin is best "steamed" no more than 1 time in 4-5 weeks.

Step 5

Contraindications There are a number of contraindications for steam baths. So this procedure is prohibited for people suffering from heart disease, asthma, as well as with dilated vessels on the face and rosacea.
