Probably, it is difficult to find a person whose skin on his face does not turn red from time to time. This can happen for many reasons: from a psychological state to any serious illness.

A person may blush due to the fact that they are in an awkward situation or worried. For example, for some reason, he is ashamed, embarrassed, or forced to communicate with people whom he clearly does not sympathize with, or he has to answer unpleasant questions, listen to unfair criticism, etc. Since the organs of the circulatory system are controlled by the autonomic (autonomic) nervous system, regardless of the wishes of a person, he cannot influence the change in the diameters of the capillaries. And the capillaries in the cases described above expand, the blood rushes to the surface of the skin, and the face turns red.

A rush of blood to the skin of the face can also be for other household reasons, for example, from tiring physical work, from overheating, including after a bath, a hot shower. Overheating from direct sunlight ("sunstroke") also leads to facial redness.

Sometimes it is caused by allergic reactions to some components of cosmetics, perfumery. Also, in women during menopause, skin redness ("hot flashes") is the most common and inevitable phenomenon.

However, redness can also be a sign of illness. For example, an increase in temperature, especially above 38, 5 - 39 degrees, is almost always accompanied by a red face.

There is also a very unpleasant disease with a beautiful name - rosacea. Its main symptoms are a constantly reddening nose and face. Anything from an increase (or decrease) in air temperature to hot food or alcoholic beverages can serve as a provoking factor. In severe, advanced cases, the patient's face is disfigured: the nose becomes unnaturally large, swollen, the skin becomes covered with ugly bumps, large pores, vascular "stars". At this stage, in addition to therapeutic treatment, it is often necessary to resort to the help of a plastic surgeon.

In some especially impressionable, easily excitable people, the skin of the face very often and very reddens, even in those cases when there seems to be no reason for this. This may be a sign of neurosis, so it is advisable for such people to seek advice from a qualified neurologist.
