What is special about creams with retinol, because cosmetics with vitamins have always been known? Retinol's long career has a solid research foundation that has demonstrated its exceptional efficacy and safety. It is a lesser known form of vitamin A, currently protected by a patent. It comes in the form of tablets and eye drops, as well as creams and ointments.

Body functions and healing properties

90 percent of Retinol is stored in the liver. It has many functions in the body:

- used in the prevention and treatment of vitamin A deficiency, - treatment of skin diseases - psoriasis, acne, - used to treat thermal, radiation and other skin injuries, - treatment of chronic inflammation of the respiratory tract and gastrointestinal tract,

- ophthalmology for dry eye syndrome, burning sensation and eye irritation.

In the initial period of using the drug, changes occur in the upper layers of the epidermis, and after a few weeks the skin looks younger. This is because, thanks to the light exfoliating and normalizing action, the damaged and stratum corneum of the epidermis is reduced and becomes more cohesive.

Subsequently, retinol acts on the deeper layers of the skin - the production of collagen and elastin increases, the structure and functioning of the living layer of the skin improves, which provides a connection between the epidermis and the dermis. As a result, after a few months, the skin becomes more elastic, fine wrinkles disappear, and deep and mimic ones become smaller.

Regulates the process of exfoliation and renewal of the epidermis, reduces the size of melanocytes (cells that produce skin pigment) and reduces the amount of melanin - as a result, discoloration gradually disappears. It also promotes the formation of new blood vessels in the skin, which determine the nutrition and oxygenation of the connective tissue and epidermis, and thus we have a good, fresh skin tone.

Fights acne

Retinol cosmetics are also used to treat oily acne-prone skin. This is due to its normalizing effect - retinol regulates the amount of sebum secreted, reduces oil content, unblocks and narrows pores, prevents the formation of acne and acne.

Hides dark circles under the eyes

After several months of regular use, it causes thickening of the skin. This is great news if you have dark circles under your eyes - thickened skin will hide this lack of beauty.

Terms of use

Retinol is very sensitive to light and temperature. How do you use this to make it effective? Cosmetics packaging must ensure its chemical stability - it must not be transparent. However, if the manufacturer hasn't taken care of this, at least you keep them away from light sources yourself. The drug is best used at night, especially in the early stages of treatment, when retinol acts primarily on the epidermis, causing increased sensitivity to sunlight.

High sun protection is required during the day. The product can also cause temporary drying of the epidermis, so use mild moisturizing cosmetics at the same time. Over time, after prolonged use, the product improves skin hydration as it stimulates the production of hyaluronic acid.

Side effects

The administration of high doses of vitamin A for a long time leads to the syndrome of hypervitaminosis A. Symptoms such as:

- feeling of excessive tiredness and drowsiness, - typical gastrointestinal disorders, - decreased appetite, - vomiting, - enlargement of the liver and spleen, - jaundice, - headaches.
