Gel polish is becoming more and more popular, which, in principle, is not surprising - both beautiful and long-lasting. However, many of the fair sex can argue with this - unfortunately, the coating is not always worn as long as we would like. Two weeks is considered the norm for socks - cracks and chips after this period can be considered normal, and the nail itself has time to grow back and the manicure does not look so perfect.
Step 1: Degreasing
Novice masters very often face problems already in the first week of wearing a gel coating. And, alas, very often they sin on materials. Undoubtedly, the quality of the base, top, and the gel polish itself affects the wearing time, but there are many other factors that are worth paying attention to. The most important enemy is the deviation from the technology and here, first of all, you need to pay attention to how well you degreased the surface of the nail and the side rollers. When degreasing, you should give preference to lint-free wipes (they can be purchased in a special store or ordered on the Internet), but it is better to refuse cotton pads, as they can leave small villi, which will significantly impair the quality of work. Degreasing must be carried out in several stages: disinfecting treatment and directly degreasing. Of course, it is best to choose a professional tool, but very often, in order to save money, inexpensive available means, such as alcohol, are also used. It will not only remove fat, but also rid the nail plate of other contaminants. You can also use regular nail polish remover. After you have degreased your nail, you can apply a base coat. Dry the base in the lamp for 2 minutes and degrease. The base is said to be a fat specialist. And if, after degreasing, you notice bald spots, then repeat the procedure for applying the base again and be sure to seal it - run along the end of the nail with a brush with a product. A lot depends on the quality of the base application, as well as on the material itself, so you should not save. It should not be ruled out that the material may simply not suit you. This can only be found out empirically.
Step 2: Apply Gel and Finish
Then you can start applying the gel directly and the finish. Their quality also affects the duration of the wear. Pay particular attention to the sealing of each layer - this is another factor that affects the lifespan of your gel coat. An important nuance - make sure that there are no leaks. this is not only ugly, but will also significantly reduce the wearing time.
And finally, let's talk about manicure before covering the nails with gel. It is best to do a hardware manicure - it does not involve soaking. If this is not possible, it is permissible to make a classic edged manicure, but not less than 1 day before coating with gel polish. The duration of wearing a gel coating depends on many factors and a very important one is your attitude to the nails. When doing any household chores, be it washing dishes or cleaning, be sure to wear gloves. Remember, your nails are not a toothpick or screwdriver, bottle opener or scraper! Treat the coating with care and you yourself will be surprised how long you can wear gel polish on your nails.
