Having mastered the subtle art of home manicure, you may find a bottle of varnish in your collection that cannot be opened. Do not rush to throw away the guilty bottle - try to unscrew the stubborn cap using available tools.

It is necessary

  • - towel;
  • - latex gloves;
  • - acetone;
  • - pipette or disposable syringe;
  • - cotton swabs;
  • - cotton pads;
  • - nail polish remover;
  • - pliers;
  • - a plaster.

Step 1

Newly bought varnish should be opened with some effort. If the cap unscrews too easily, this may mean that the bottle has already been opened, or, possibly, varnish has been used. Bubbles, closed with additional decorative caps, must be carefully removed from this decoration. Gently squeeze the plastic cover with two fingers and lift it up. Do not squeeze too hard - brittle plastic may crack.

Step 2

If the bottle does not open and the cap slips in your hand, wrap it in a towel and try again. Thick rubber gloves can also help. Put them on and turn the lid with force - it is quite possible that it will give in.

Step 3

Place a bottle with a screwed-on thread too tightly under running hot water for 1-2 minutes. Make sure that the neck of the bubble is under the water. Do not immerse the bottle in boiling water. Your task is to "expand" the cover under the influence of high temperatures. Wipe it dry and try to unscrew it again using rubber gloves.

Step 4

Sometimes the lacquer that has flowed under the thread prevents the bottle from opening. In severe cases, you can find traces of enamel on the top of the bubble. To dissolve dried varnish, turn the bottle over, draw acetone into a pipette or disposable syringe without a needle and gently apply it along the rim of the lid. After a few minutes, remove the softened enamel with a cotton swab and fill in a new portion of acetone. Take your time - the process will take some time.

Step 5

After opening the bottle, carefully clean the neck thread and the inside of the cap from the remaining varnish. To prevent the situation from repeating itself, after each manicure, wipe the neck with a cotton pad dipped in nail polish remover.

Step 6

Are gentle measures not helping? Try brute force. Wrap the lid of the vial with tissue tape, take a pair of pliers and twist gently. Make sure you twist the cover in the right direction. Do not squeeze it too hard, otherwise the fragile plastic and glass of the bottle will certainly crack.
