Oily hair usually causes many problems for its owners. Various masks and medicated shampoos for their care are quite expensive, and a good result is often enough for only one day. Why does hair get oily and how to treat it?
There are many reasons due to which the work of the sebaceous glands on the head is disrupted. Among them are impaired metabolism, hormonal imbalance, heredity, stress, poor nutrition, poor immunity, the presence of tumors, improper scalp care. As a result, one or a combination of several factors can lead to seborrhea, a serious illness accompanied by itching, flaky skin, fungal infections, and hair loss.
It is useless to treat oily hair with shampoos, masks and lotions without trying to eliminate the root cause of the disruption of the sebaceous glands. First of all, you will need a consultation with specialists - an endocrinologist, dermatologist, nutritionist, etc. They will prescribe a method of treatment, which may include hormonal, antiviral and antifungal therapy, taking vitamins and minerals.
Proper nutrition is equally important. Fermented milk products are very useful: yogurt, kefir, cottage cheese. Cooked food should be rich in protein, vitamins, and minerals. Fresh vegetables and fruits are very useful. You should limit canned food, sausages, sweet and fatty foods and spices.
Cosmetics for the treatment of seborrhea should be used with extreme caution and only those recommended by specialists. You need to wash your hair only with cool water, dry it without using a hair dryer. It is better to comb oily hair not with a brush, but with a comb, without touching the skin, so as not to distribute the grease through the hair.
Additionally, aloe juice can be used for treatment. It is applied to the hair, rubbed in and kept for 20-30 minutes. It is better to rinse your head with decoctions of herbs - nettle, chamomile, calendula, coltsfoot or sage. A decoction of oak helps very well with seborrhea. To prepare it, you need to take 3 tablespoons of bark per liter of water and cook for 15 minutes. Strain the finished broth and cool. Use as washing water.
