It happens that sellers, wanting to sell old goods as profitable as possible, pass off cheaper fur as luxurious and expensive. Especially often such "transformations" occur with rabbit fur, which is passed off as beaver fur. Agree, such a substitution is unequal. After all, a beaver fur coat can be worn for 18 years, and for a rabbit - a maximum of 5.

Step 1
Iron the fur garment over the wool. If the fur is smooth, and the hand slips a little, then you have a beaver skin in front of you.
Step 2
Iron the fur against the grain. If these are beaver skins, then the fur will prick a little. Rabbit fur, on the other hand, is not as thick and does not have rigidity.
Step 3
Pay attention to the dressing of the fur and the geometry of the skins sewn together. A detached beaver skin is usually rectangular in shape. Its dimensions are 30x50 or 40x65. Look at the product again, inside out. It should be sewn from solid plates of this size.
Step 4
Check the flesh. In no case should it crunch or make a rustling sound. If the skin is yellow, then this indicates that the fur is old, so in no case take a product made from such fur, since its shelf life is already running out.
Step 5
Pay close attention to the quality of the finish of the fur. Carefully inspect the seams, which are always thin and neat on a product made of expensive fur. If the skins are glued together, and not sewn together, then there is no need to talk about the quality of such a product: during the first snowfall, it will literally fall apart into pieces.
Step 6
Take a close look at the stickers and product labels. Ask the seller for all the necessary certificates confirming that this product really belongs to the manufacturer, whose label is indicated on the labels. The certificates must contain information about the fur auction, as well as information about the suppliers of fur and the quality of the skins. The skins must also bear the marks of the factories in which they were made. Be sure to ask if there is a manufacturer's warranty.
